Ingredients
Apples
- 6 small Granny Smith apples (cold and completely dry)
- Wooden sticks
Glass Candy Coating
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- ¾ cup water
- ½ cup light corn syrup
- White food coloring (optional for opaque glow effect)
- Gel food coloring (pink, blue, purple, neon green, etc.)
- Candy thermometer
Jolly Rancher Flavor Layer
- 12–15 crushed Jolly Rancher candies
(mix flavors for rainbow glass effect)
Cotton Candy Finish
- Store-bought cotton candy or fresh spun cotton candy
- Edible glitter or luster dust (optional)
Prep the Apples
Candy & Sweets
- Wash apples thoroughly to remove wax.
- Dry completely — moisture ruins the candy shell.
- Insert sticks and chill apples in the fridge for 20–30 minutes.
Make the Glass Candy
- In a heavy saucepan, combine:
- sugar
- water
- corn syrup
- Heat over medium without stirring.
- Cook until the syrup reaches 300°F / 149°C (hard crack stage).
At this stage, the sugar structure becomes glass-like:

- Remove from heat.
- Add food coloring and swirl gently.
- Stir in crushed Jolly Ranchers for extra flavor and jewel-like color streaks.
