Salisbury Steak with Mashed Potatoes and Mushroom Gravy

Instructions1.

Make the Patties

In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, Worcestershire, and seasonings. Mix well.
Shape into 4 oval patties.
2. Sear the Steaks

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high.
Cook patties for 3–4 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
3. Build the Gravy

Drain excess fat from skillet.
Add butter and mushrooms; sauté until softened.
Sprinkle in flour, stir until mushrooms are coated.
Gradually whisk in beef broth, season to taste.
4. Simmer & Finish

Return patties to skillet.
Simmer on medium-low for about 10–15 minutes until meat is cooked through and gravy is thick.
5. Serve it Up

Spoon over mashed potatoes and dive in!

Swap beef broth for mushroom broth for a deeper flavor
Add a splash of soy sauce to the gravy for umami kick
Use homemade mashed potatoes flavored with roasted garlic or cream cheese for extra indulgence
