Homemade onion tart slices – warm or cold, always a true delight

Ingredients:
250 g flour

125 g butter or margarine

1 egg

2 tbsp water

1 pinch of salt

For the filling:

500 g onions

150 g bacon cubes (optional vegetarian: smoked tofu)

200 g crème fraîche or sour cream

2 eggs

Salt, pepper, nutmeg

1️⃣ Knead a shortcrust dough from the flour, butter, egg, water, and salt. Chill for 30 minutes.
2️⃣ Peel the onions, cut into rings, and sauté with the bacon in a pan until translucent.
3️⃣ Whisk the crème fraîche (or sour cream) with the eggs and season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
4️⃣ Roll out the dough, place it in a greased tart pan, and spread the onion-bacon mixture evenly over it.
5️⃣ Pour the cream-egg mixture evenly on top.
6️⃣ Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (392°F) for about 35–40 minutes until golden brown.
7️⃣ Let it cool, cut into slices, and serve cold. 😋
